Policy provided which jointly forms the contractual arrangements with
the Motor Insurers, subject to the Proposal Form being completed and
accepted by the Insurer.

Contingent Liability Cover *
This provides indemnity to you, the policyholder,
in respect of damage to your vehicle in the event of:
- The customer making
an incorrect statement on the agreement
- The customer withholding information
which would normally exclude cover from being provided under the
terms of the motor policy
- The vehicle being driven by an unauthorised person
Conversion Cover *
This provides indemnity to the policyholder in respect of unlawful conversion
of your vehicle by the customer to his / her own use (failure to return).
Customers Own Insurance *
Cover can also be extended to include indemnity to the
policyholder in respect of a claim being rejected by the Prime Insurer
who has provided
cover on your vehicle. Proof that comparable own insurance cover has
been correctly transferred will be required. A certificate on its own
is not acceptable as it does
not contain details of the cover in force or any policy restrictions.
Always ask for a certificate or cover note, but before the vehicle leaves
your
control verify with the customers’ Insurer or Broker the extent of
the cover in force and record the name and status of the person contacted.
Also ensure your interest has been noted under the policy as legal owners
of the vehicle. When the vehicle is supplied for a specific period and
is then extended make sure you extend the ‘Own Insurance’ arrangements.
This would equally apply should there be a change of vehicle during the
period.
* It is a condition of the policy that claims met under the contingent
liability, conversion and customers own insurance sections are subject to
you and your staff not being a party to such misdemeanour. The cover is subject
to satisfactory precautions being taken. The benefits provided under these
sections will be the same as the cover normally provided under the standard
insurance policy. The insurers reserve the right to recover the cost of
claims met under these sections from the parties concerned.
